Students are faced with difficult circumstances every day. How they respond to adversity not only reveals the condition of their hearts, but also is a clear indicator of Jesus' influence on their lives.

Rescued is an in-depth exploration of John 10:10 “A thief comes to steal, kill and destroy; I came so they can have real eternal life a better life than you've ever dreamed of.” We divide the verse into four parts - and each session teaches on a different aspect; instructing, challenging, and encouraging students to respond to a God who wants to rescue them from an ordinary life and give them a better life than they ever dreamed of.

Theme Overview

“A thief comes to steal, kill and destroy; I came so they can have real eternal life a better life than you've ever dreamed of.” -John 10:10

One thing we love about working with students is that they are full-life seekers. Teenagers aren't afraid or ashamed to dive-in, take risks, and whole-heartedly pursue more from life. Students, more than other groups, seem to have the natural ability to see life as the type of adventure God intended--to see the world around them as the playground that God created.

Somewhere along the way of life youth and adults attempt to find real life in the wrong places. We buy into the worlds' lies about what true life really is. This results in making choices that lead to hurt, loss, and a disconnection from God leading to an ordinary, average existence.

This conference, [R]ESC[U]ED helps participants to respond to a God who rescues them from an ordinary life and gives them a better life than they ever dreamed.

Session 1: Watch Out for the Thief
Focus: “A thief comes to steal, kill and destroy"
Speaker: Jeffrey Meinz
Overview: A thief comes to steal, kill and destroy. Jesus is saying in these eight words that there is "something" that is making you live an ordinary life and He wants to rescue you from it. That "something" is the thief and the thief comes to steal, kill and destroy.

Session 2: When God Came Near
Focus: “I came.”
Speaker: Leon Jameson
Overview: Sure. it's the greatest arrival in the history of the world. God became man in the form of Jesus Christ. He was 100% human just like you and I but He was also 100% God. But, why did Jesus come to earth and how does that rescue us from ordinary living?

Session 3: Living Today With Hope for Eternity
Focus: "so they can have real eternal life"
Speaker: Sarah Salzberg
Overview: Let's talk about what real life is versus what false life is. Real living versus an illusion of living. You see an ordinary life is what the world offers and this conference is about God rescuing us from an ordinary life to be living a Spirit-led extraordinary life.

Session 4: A Life Well Lived
Focus: “A better life than you've ever dreamed of.”
Speaker: Micah Steiner
Overview: This session focuses on a life well lived. God intends for us to see the world around us as a joy-filled playground that He has created. But, somewhere along the way students attempt to find real life in the wrong places. They buy into the worlds' lies about what true life really is. This results in making choices that lead to hurt, loss, and a disconnection from God leading to an ordinary, average existence. But God provides the rescue and provides a better life than they've ever dreamed.
